On entry into the laboratory changing room
|

Wash your hands using hand disinfectant
before entering laboratory changing room |

Dip wellingtons into foot bath
outside laboratory containing disinfectant. Remove all straw on unit overalls If wellingtons are very dirty,
clean them and then re-wash hands carefully removing all traces of
disinfectant. If overalls are very
dirty, go and change into clean unit overalls. Yard Boots and
overalls must not enter the laboratory changing area |

When entering changing room, remove unit overalls and wellingtons |

Step over barrier |

Change into laboratory white overalls and wellingtons |

On entry into the laboratory |

On entry into the laboratory wash your hands using a hand disinfectant immediately |

Switch on the water bath, set at 35oC, warming
plate 35oC and microscope. Colorimeter
if used. These may take 30 minutes to warm up |

3 |
Check the warming incubator is at 37oC (if
used) and the semen storage cabinet/room is at 17oC |
|
4 |
Wipe down all working surfaces with a clean damp cloth
with hand disinfectant as the soap |

5 |
Prepare the semen diluent
