| A
number of people have sent donations to us in memory of a pet
pig that has passed. We would like to inform pet owners how
this is done and what the Duchess Fund does routinely.
When we have knowledge
of a pet pigs demise, we send a sympathy card to the owner
with the following poem printed inside of the card:
|
DO NOT
STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP
|
Do
not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am not a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush |
Of
beautiful birds in circling flight.
I am the star-shine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there...
I did not die. |
If you would like to honor a
pig that has passed with a donation in memory of the pig,
simply send us the donation, name and address of the owner and
the name of the pig. We will send this card and poem along
with a note saying that a donation has been made in memory of
their dearly departed. You may choose to do this anonymously
or we will put your name in the note as the donor. If you have
lost your pet, you may likewise send a donation in memory of
him/her.
Your tax deductible donations
are to honor this loss as well as all the other pigs that have
passed over and have provided us with important education
materials and information via their necropsies.
The Duchess Fund is a non
profit 501(c)(3) organization and operates on your donations.
