LOADING
AND UNLOADING OF PIGS

All pigs must leave the farm by the loading ramp |

Separate boots as supplied must be worn by the person entering the ramp area and not to be used on the farm |

Change boots by
the foot dip and this must be used at all times |

No foot contact must be made on the top part of the ramp or the truck tailboard |

The truck must be inspected on arrival
paying particular attention to the tail-board for cleanliness and any
evidence of dung contamination. If
contaminated the lorry must be sent away for cleaning |

After the lorry has departed the area
must be sprayed with suitable disinfectant using a watering can and left for
at least 1 hour before cleaning.
Remember to use ramp boots |

Pigs must be moved out of the pens
gently without any physical force and held in the loading area (Boards only to be used no sticks or
goads) |
8 |
Any pigs showing signs of illness or
lameness must not go forward onto the loading ramp |
9 |
Once a pig has
entered the top of the ramp it must go onto the truck or back to isolation if
there is a problem |
