Farrowing Crate Requirements

  •  Any cross-bar at the top of a crate must be a minimum of 150 mm above the back of the sow when standing in the normal posture
  • The escape area around a farrowing crate should be 300 mm wide (12 in) with side creeps width 1.7 meters
  • Heat mat minimum 0.6m2 (4ft x 1.5ft)
  • Farrowing arc should have a floor area of 4.5 m2
